-right click shell extension is once again broken on 64-bit XP.-icons for files associated with alcohol 120 are broken for some reason.-crashes whenever i try to burn a disk image.-in this version you are supposed to be able to set a larger buffer - if you have enough RAM. on a 64-bit XP box with 5GB RAM, the maximum buffer was still 256MB. the option for 512MB and 1024MB were not even there.-the new "xtra wizard" is a good idea, but it needs work. all the images the xtra wizard use the UDF format, which has always given me problems - after making several different images and burning them to disks, ive ended up with a bunch of coasters.under normal circumstances, i really enjoy this program. but all the problems with this version are really unacceptable.
Alcohol 120 V.1.9.6 Full Version Serial Download
i just wanted to note, as it has not been done so, that this programs tries its very very best to give you a 1:1 copy,it knows and recongnizes manys PC (Mainly) copy protections and has certain tricks up it's sleeve to bypass these protections, although i should note that starforce 3 and sucurom new version 7 can not be beet this way, other implementations will be required from 3rd party (free) utilities (which means that the image created will need to be emulated through deamon tools, and black list blockers will help deamon tools from being detected or black listed)all in all i fear that Alcohol is up against a brick wall now, because all new protections coming out are very strong and has good blacklisting technology, and until alcohol can find a way of encrypting there Virtual Drive Driver and really increase there stealth capabilities then Acohol will be detected a lot of times, and the 3rd party utilites i was talking about don't really support this software in paticular as it's comercial.but don't get me wrong this software is amazing and with the help of copy protection detectors (a utility that will scan the copy protected CD/DVD and tell you what protection is being used) the user will know what optimal settings to use for those protected CD/DVD,all in all i recommend this software for many, but for those who need virtual CD/DVD emulation then this software is behind in times.(deamon tools added with some very powerful free anti-blacklisting utilities is more superior)P.S. alcohol is good for music CD's aswell, if you want a perfect error free copy of a music CD then this is the way to do it 100%, and if there is problems with the RIP, alcohol will tell you, where as many rippers do not.and with mutiple retries it can recover damage disks (discs that need to have certain sectors read mutiple times to cross compare and verify integgrity) which i use quite often if i can't get my music CD as clean as one would like it to be.summary : - as a Ripper 100% recommendedbut a 3rd party utility will be required to detect which protection is being used (If one) on the disc.as a virtual Drive, no, not enough stealth capabilities (keeps being detected)and mounting and unmounting can be slow and tiresome (deamon tools is faster, easier, and more powerful in keeping itself hidden and protected)in acohol's defence though, it has to be said that deamon tools was soley designed to be a powerful emulator ONLY,Acohol was designed to be the most powerful Ripper (1:1 duplication) and it succeeds!.
This program is great. I havent yet used it to play a game yet like the user below has so I cant say anything about the speed. I use this for mounting SVCD and DVD image files and they dont show any real speed issues. This program is a solid replacment for good ole reliable Daemon tools Daemon just needs to allow more then 4 virtual drives is all.Thats not enough for most of my SVCD image files (one is 15 CD's). I like to mount them all then create playlists in my favorite Mpeg2 player (winDVD Recorder or Zoom Player) so they play right though without having to swap discs. Alcohol has worked VERY nice for that sence I descovered it a month or so ago. As for the dude belows speed problems, perhaps it has something to do with the copy protection emulation options. even in Daemon there not perfict but I havent played a game with Alcohol yet to see how good they work. Now for the one gripe I now have with this... It seems that this new version has changed the icons on RAR files to some red icon with the leters "AX" on it. it is also enabling the mount drive context menu (it is normaly not avalible to any files but thouse that Alcohol can mount) on RAR files to. I tried to mount a RAR becose the option was there but it reports "invalid image file". I dont like that it changed my rar icon without me telling it to and I cant chage it back (short of removing Alcohol and then re-installing winrar). Any idea why it did this? Is it a bug? Some cool; usefull feature thats onlky partialyimplamented that would kick ass? I dont know :)
